Winsford Railway Station BridgeDate: From 2nd October 2026

Closure: Winsford Railway Station Bridge
Date: 2nd October 2026 until further notice
Service affected: 37 and 37A

Due to the railway bridge having a 7.5 tonne limit, services 37 and 37A will be on diversion.

Buses will divert between Middlewich and Winsford in both directions via Bostock Road, Wharton Road, Crook Lane and Station Road. During this time we will be unable to serve stops at Stanthorne Crossroads, Seaton Street, Clive Stores, Road One or Winsford Railway Station.

We are experiencing some delays to both services due to the length of the diversion. Due to length of the roadworks new timetables and routes will be introduced on 1st November.

Service 2 will change from 1st November 2026

Following the award of a contract from Stoke-on-Trent City Council, we will be introducing Monday to Saturday evening journeys on service 2 from 1st November 2026. These will replace journeys operated by First Bus and will run at the same times.

Following the award of a contract from Stoke-on-Trent City Council, we will be introducing Monday to Saturday evening, and Sunday and Bank Holiday journeys on service 9 from 1st November 2026. These will replace journeys operated by First Bus and will run at the same times.

There will also be changes to some Saturday afternoon journeys on services 9, 9A and 9B.

Services 31, 37 & 37ADate: 1st November 2026

Services 31, 37 and 37A will change from 1st November 2026

Following the long-term weight limit that has been enforced on Middlewich Road alongside Winsford Railway Station, buses on services 31, 37 and 37A will be revised to allow for a more reliable timetable to operate.

Service 31 will operate via Station Road, Crook Lane and Bradbury Road between Winsford and Wharton, with buses no longer serving Moulton, except on Sundays and Bank Holidays.

Services 37 and 37A will operate via Bostock Road and Wharton Road in both directions and will pick up when travelling both to and from Winsford town centre. Service 37 will no longer serve Bradbury Road in Wharton, but will be diverted to serve Moulton. Services 37 and 37A will be unable to serve Winsford Railway Station, with the nearest stops being on Station Road to the west of the Crook Lane junction.

Services 40 & 40ADate: 1st November 2026

New services 40 and 40A will commence 1st November 2026

Following the award of a contract from Stoke-on-Trent City Council, we will be introducing Monday to Saturday daytime journeys on services 40 and 40A from 1st November 2026. These will replace journeys operated by First Bus and routes and times will be revised.

Services 40 and 40A will provide an hourly off-peak service between Hanley, Stoke Station, Stoke, Mount Pleasant, Longton, Dresden and Newstead, with service 40 continuing every two hours to provide a new link to Jonathan Road and Burrington Drive in Trentham, and service 40A extending to the World of Wedgwood visitor centre.

We are making some changes to improve reliability, and there are new extensions to the route on weekday mornings to Royal Shrewsbury Hospital and Shrewsbury College.
